DAILY POST, TVC reporters emerge best journalists in Ogun

DAILY POST correspondent in Ogun State, Gift Oba and Kazeem Olowe of the Television Continental (TVC), have emerged as best print/online/broadcast journalist of the year 2025.
The award was presented to the duo on Friday, during the Nigeria Union of Journalists, Ogun State Council’s award and dinner night, tagged, Asale Asa: Journaliganza as part of activities marking the union’s 2025 annual press week.
Oba was awarded for her reports on; Overcrowded, overlooked: Inside Ogun Correctional Centre crisis, How house agents milk ‘house hunters’ dry in Ogun, among others.
Speaking at the event, which featured a fashion parade where traditional attires styled by the Egbaliganza were displayed by journalists, the NUJ Chairman, Akinwale Olarenwaju, stated that the awards were testament to exceptional skills and dedication to quality journalism.
Olarenwaju appreciated the support of the state government, eminent personalities in attendance, and members of the council for their love and support, promising that the council under his watch would continue to grow from strength to strength.
The event was attended by the Deputy Governor of Ogun State, Noimot Salako-Oyedele, the Ogun State Head of Service, Mr Kehinde Onasanya, Gboyega Nasiru Isiaka; Senator Shuaib Afolabi Salisu; Chief Lai Labode, the promoter of the Egbaliganza; Senator Lekan Mustapha and other notable personalities.
Other notable journalists honoured at the event include Doyin Lasisi of the Ogun State Broadcasting Corporation (OGBC); Yemi Dalemo of the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA); Ayo Oluwunmi of the Ogun State Television (OGTV); Femi Osipitan of the Ogun State Ministry of Information; Sanni Ismail of Kaftan TV; and Idris Oderinde of News Life Online.
