Nigerian troops free hostages, eliminate terrorist in Borno raid

Troops of the Joint Task Force (North East), Operation Hadin Kai, have rescued two hostages and neutralised a Boko Haram fighter during clearance operations in Borno State.
The operations, carried out on October 1 by soldiers of the 222 Battalion (Main) with support from volunteer motorcycle units, covered Mittiri, Loskuri, Tamsu Ngamdu, and Wonori villages.
According to Zagazola Makama, one terrorist was eliminated in the encounter, while the freed hostages were safely evacuated. Troops also recovered a motorcycle belonging to the insurgents.
The military reaffirmed its determination to sustain aggressive clearance operations aimed at restoring peace and stability across the North East.
