Kobby Kyei graduates from UPSA with Master’s in Media and Digital Communications 


Ghanaian online journalist and blogger, Kobby Kyei, has graduated from the University of Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA), with a Master’s degree in Media and Digital Communications Management.

The graduation ceremony was held on Friday, 3rd October 2025, at the university’s premises.

Kobby, known for his progressive style of blogging and online journalism, said his decision to pursue the programme was driven by his quest to broaden his horizon in his field of work.

“He who refuses to learn, refuses to grow. I chose this path for a purpose; not to just earn a Master’s degree but to acquire new skills that will make me better in my chosen career,” he told myjoyonline.com.

He added that the knowledge gained will further enhance his work in the digital space and its impact on society.

Augustus Koranteng Kyei, popularly known in media circles as Kobby Kyei, is a Ghanaian blogger noted for spotlighting humanitarian and social development stories. He began his career in lifestyle and entertainment blogging before shifting focus to content that drives social change in other aspects of life. 

Born in Agona Duakwa, he completed Nyankumasi Ahenkro Senior High School in 2009, earned a Diploma in Music from the University of Education, Winneba in 2012, and later a Degree in Music Education in 2016. He is also a skilled trumpeter.

His impactful works have earned him awards including Online Media Personality at the National Communications Awards, Best Youth Blogger of the Year at the Youth Excellence Awards, Tertiary Star Role Model of the Year at the Ghana Tertiary Awards, and Best Blogger of the Year at the Ghana Web Excellence Awards.

Since he officially started his blogging career in 2017, Kobby Kyei has written extensively and interviewed personalities such as former French Ambassador to Ghana Anne Sophie, Norway’s Ambassador to Ghana H.E. Ingrid Mollestad, KSM, Sarkodie, Kwabena Kwabena, Akwaboah, King Promise, Samini, Stonebwoy, Kwaw Kese, MzVee, Adina, Cina Soul, Sammy Forson and Nana Ama McBrown.

Beyond media, he has championed several humanitarian projects, providing boreholes for deprived communities, distributing wheelchairs to the less privileged, and leading the “Respect For Zebra Crossing In Ghana” campaign, which gained national attention.

With a strong social media following, he currently serves as the official blogger for actress and TV personality Nana Ama McBrown. He has also been recognised as one of the top 50 Ghanaian youth for his influence and contributions.

In 2024, he was invited to speak at a side event at the United Nations in New York in recognition of his contributions to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), a milestone that affirmed his role as a voice for social transformation.

He is the founder of the Shine Summit, a signature event that brings together thought leaders, change-makers, and young talents to inspire, empower and promote positive societal growth. The summit has grown into a key platform for discussions on leadership, innovation, mental health, and youth empowerment in Ghana.

Recently, Kobby Kyei launched the “Boys Lives Matter” campaign, an initiative aimed at addressing mental and emotional health challenges faced by boys in Ghana. Through this project, he seeks to raise awareness, challenge societal stigmas, and create supportive environments for young males to thrive.

His work continues to inspire a new generation of socially conscious youth and underscores the power of media in driving social change.
