GES interdicts Okadjakrom SHTS teacher over sexual misconduct

The Ghana Education Service (GES) has interdicted Mr Mfo Richard Tibetor, a teacher at the Okadjakrom Senior High Technical School in the Jasikan Municipality of the Oti Region, for alleged sexual misconduct with a female student.

He has also been prohibited from entering the school premises while further investigations into the alleged case by the GES unfold.

The interdiction of Mr Tibetor was confirmed by the GES in a press statement issued and signed by the Head of Public Relations, Mr Daniel Fenyi, and copied The Ghanaian Times yesterday.

The GES in the statement said that it found the alleged action of the teacher that was captured in a viral video unacceptable, unethical, and a clear violation of the professional code of conduct of teachers.

It has, therefore, assured all stakeholders, including parents, guardians, and the general public of the safety of students.

Moreover, the GES noted that any teacher who was found culpable of acts that compromised the dignity and wellbeing of students would face the full rigours of the law in accordance with its Code of Conduct.

“The GES remains committed to ensuring discipline, professionalism, and child protection across all schools in the country,” it added.

It would be recalled that the GES recently dismissed the Assistant Headmaster of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) Senior High School for the alleged fondling of one of the female student of the school.

The video of the incident had received so many criticism by the general public after it went viral on social media.
