GES reassures students’ safety following interdiction of Okadjakrom SHTS teacher over alleged sexual misconduct

The Ghana Education Service (GES) has reaffirmed its commitment to safeguarding students, following the circulation of a disturbing video allegedly depicting a sexual encounter between a teacher and a female student in the Oti Region.
“The GES assures parents, guardians, and the general public that the safety and protection of all students remain our topmost priority. Any teacher found culpable of acts that compromise the dignity and wellbeing of students will face the full rigours of the law in accordance with the GES Code of Conduct,” stated in a press release issued on Thursday, October 2.

The teacher, Mr Mfo Richard Tibetor, has since been interdicted and barred from accessing the school premises while investigations continue.

The development comes on the heels of a similar case at KNUST Senior High School in the Ashanti Region, where another teacher, an Assistant Headmaster (Academic) was alleged to have engaged in sexual misconduct with a student.
In that case, GES has removed the Assistant Headmaster (Academic), Mr Charles Akwasi Aidoo, after the viral video showed him in a compromising situation with the female student.

GES has described the alleged acts as unacceptable and unethical, stressing that such behaviour represents a grave violation of the professional code of conduct for teachers.
