Kick Nation Sports Agency launches with high-profile backing

Talent management group Kick Nation Sports Agency, on Wednesday, October 1, began the first steps of its operation with a launch in Accra.

The launch was a star-studded affair, with former Black Stars players Asamoah Gyan, Baffour Gyan, and Emmanuel Agyemang-Badu, as well as members of the Black Stars technical team, John Paintsil and Fatawu Dauda, in attendance.

The event, held at the Silicon House Production, brought together football administrators, former footballers, investors, FIFA-licensed coaches, scouts, agents, and sports journalists.

At the launch, Wunnam Haruna, CEO of Kick Nation, who was also celebrating his 20th Birthday, outlined his agency’s vision for providing a development platform for footballers at all stages of their careers. As he put it:

“We’re committed to creating opportunities for both young and mature players,” he said. “Through strategic collaborations with local and international clubs, we will build pathways that lead directly from grassroots training to professional football, both in Ghana and abroad.”

Former Black Stars captain Gyan expressed his support for the initiative, saying, “This is a good initiative, and we were all happy to be here. I want to let Wunnam know that my doors are always open so he can come to me if he needs advice. Personally, I like investing in talents, that’s why we are all here to support. I will write my application and send it to you so that we can work together.”

FIFA agent Oliver Arthur also offered words of wisdom to Wunnam Haruna, advising him to prioritise his scouting team:

“As a young agent, the only people you should pay heed to with regard to players are your scouting team, not anyone close to you or your immediate family.”

The launch was attended by other notable figures, including Dr Ernest Koranteng, Dauda Lutterodt, Baba Sadiq, Gary Al-Smith, Michael Oti Adjei, Samuel Anim Addo, and Samuel Abboabire, among others.
