The Ghana Police Service has arrested two military personnel and two civilians for their alleged involvement in an attempted robbery at Longshine Mining Company Limited in Obouhu, a suburb of Prestea in the Western Region.
A video circulating on social media shows the uniformed officers being escorted into a police van for transfer to Accra, where further investigations are expected to take place.
While details surrounding the attempted robbery remain sketchy, the arrests have raised concerns about the growing trend of security personnel being implicated in violent crimes.
As of now, the Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) has not issued any official statement regarding the involvement of its personnel in the incident.
