‘It will be a different Ghana’ – Prosper Ogum on rematch against Cote d’Ivoire in WAFU B final

Black Starlets head coach Prosper Ogum Narteh believes fans will see a different Ghana team when they play Cote d’Ivoire in the final of the ongoing WAFU B U-17 Cup of Nations.
The game will be a repeat of the second round of group stage fixtures when the Black Starlets lost 3-0 to the host country at the Charles Konan Banny Stadium.
Ghana beat Nigeria to book a place in the final two on Tuesday evening, while Cote d’Ivoire also eased past Burkina Faso in the other semifinal clash earlier in the day.
Asked what he would do differently in the game against Cote d’Ivoire, Ogum said his side will need to approach the game differently from their style in the first meeting.
“It will be a different Ghana; our structure will be different, our mentality and our character will also be different. They defeated us in the group stage,” he said after the win over Nigeria.
“Fortunately, we have been able to play them so we know what to do, go back and prepare ourselves in terms of our mentality and character and how we need to stay focused on the field.
“Tactically, we also have to re-strategise to make sure that we meet them boot for boot.”
A place in the final also means Ghana and Cote d’Ivoire both seal the available tickets to represent WAFU B at next year’s U-17 Africa Cup of Nations tournament to be staged in Morocco.
