Lagos NURTW official ‘Shamelon’ arraigned for alleged murder

The Lagos State Police Command has arraigned a senior member of the National Union of Road Transport Workers, NURTW, Samsideen Oladiti, popularly known as Shamelon, before an Ebute Metta Magistrates’ Court.
Oladiti, 55, was brought before the court on charges related to the alleged murder of a dispatch rider, following his arrest in connection with the incident.
According to a statement issued by the Deputy Police Public Relations Officer, Babaseyi Oluseyi, the union chieftain reportedly assaulted the victim during a confrontation on Lagos Island. He was alleged to have used a crash helmet and his fists to inflict severe injuries on the rider, which later proved fatal.
Police records also revealed that Oladiti had previously been the subject of a separate complaint linked to an incident that occurred on August 28, 2025.
