Nketiah reveals message from Arsenal after winning goal in Palace 2-1 win over Liverpool
Crystal Palace star, Eddie Nketiah, has revealed the message he got from Arsenal after helping Palace beat Liverpool in the Premier League on Saturday.
Palace beat Liverpool 2-1 to hand Arne Slot’s men their first defeat of the season at Selhurst Park.
Nketiah, a former Gunners’ star, said he received a few grateful texts from his Arsenal connections.
Ismaila Sarr made it 1-0 for Crystal Palace after just nine minutes but Federico Chiesa equalised for Liverpool. in the 87th minute.
However, Nketiah became the hero when he netted the winning goal seven minutes into stoppage time.
Liverpool were five points clear in the table prior to this weekend’s matches but the defeat could now benefit other things.
Nketiah joined Crystal Palace from Arsenal in 2024 and the Gunners could be the major beneficiaries of his winning goal against Liverpool.
“I had a few thank you messages to be honest,” said Nketiah after the game.
“Yeah, a couple of the staff messaged me but I’m fully focused on life here and want to do well and help the team as much as possible.”
Arsenal has a date with Newcastle United in the Premier League next Sunday.
