Police arrest six suspects linked to bandits in Benue’s Katsina-Ala


Six suspects have been arrested by the Police Command in Benue State during a raid on bandits’ hideouts in the Sankara area of Katsina-Ala Local Government Area.

According to a post shared by security analyst Zagazola Makama on Sunday, the raid took place around 10:00 a.m. on September 27 at different black spots in the area. 

The suspects; Harrison Innocent, 30; Chidera Aningene, 23; Blessing Ula, 27; Godwin Chukwuma, 40; Paul David, 27; and John Nevgba, 18 were found with substances believed to be hard drugs, which they allegedly supplied to bandits operating in the region.

The suspects are currently in custody as the State Criminal Investigation Department (CID) continues its investigation. 

Makama also noted that the raids would continue as part of efforts to remove criminal elements from the state.

Meanwhile, the 401 Brigade of the Nigerian Army has begun clearance operations in the Sankara axis, moving towards Takum in Taraba State to join local troops in pursuing bandits who reportedly fled to the Peva (Chanchangi) hideout.
