EPL: Brighton coach Hürzeler explains how his team won 3-1 against Chelsea

Brighton manager Fabian Hürzeler has explained why his team defeated Chelsea 3-1 in the Premier League on Saturday.

Hürzeler watched as goals from Danny Welbeck and Maxim De Cuyper gave Brighton the win over Enzo Maresca’s side.

Enzo Fernández, however, scored for Chelsea at Stamford Bridge, while Trevoh Chalobah was shown a red card during the encounter.

Speaking in his post-match interview after the game, Hürzeler said his team were better in possession and played with much more courage against the Blues.

He also noted that Chalobah’s red card helped Brighton.

“Chelsea dominated us until the goal and then everything changed,” Hürzeler said.

“We were better in possession, then played with much more courage. The red card always helps, but it doesn’t always mean there is an advantage on the pitch.

“Sometimes it can get even harder to create something but my players remained patient.”
