China has denounced the scapegoating of the nation regarding Russia’s war in Ukraine, accusing its adversaries of shifting the blame for the crisis in Eastern Europe.
Polish Foreign Minister Radosław told the Foreign Affairs magazine that China is the only country that could end the conflict, but is “making money from selling dual-use and other stuff to Russia.”
On Friday, the Chinese government rejected the claim of creating the crisis, nor being a party, noting that it has been promoting peace talks being a permanent member of the UN Security Council.
“It is not China, but someone else who do not want the conflict to end and has been stoking the flames and profiteering from it,” said Foreign spokesperson Guo Jiakun.
Nothing that its effort is recognized by the international community, China posits that the root cause of the war “lies in regional security tensions that have built up over the years in Europe.”
The government said the standoff could be addressed by accommodating the security concerns of all parties and creating a balanced and sustainable European security architecture through dialogue.
On the reestablishment of military bases in and around Afghanistan, China inisists that the sovereignty, independence, and territorial integrity of the nation should be respected.
At the UN General Assembly in New York, the foreign ministers of China, Iran, Pakistan, and Russia released a statement declaring their opposition to the United States’ attempt to regain the Bagram Air Base.
According to China, the joint resistance confirms Afghanistan’s neighbors respect the country’s dignity and share a common will to render assistance and keep it stable.
Jiakun reiterated Beijing’s resolve to continue coordinating with the global community to support Afghanistan and play a constructive role toward peace and reconstruction.
