2027: Ganduje, Barau, Bichi rally massive North-West support for Tinubu

Abdullahi Ganduje, the immediate past National Chairman of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, and the Deputy Senate President, Barau Jibrin, on Thursday led other key party stakeholders in Kano State, north-west Nigeria, to rally support for the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Speaking with journalists after a closed-door meeting held in Abuja, former Kano State Governor Ganduje said the APC stakeholders are united and determined to work hard to ensure that the party retains the governorship seat in Kano State in 2027.

“We are here, and we examine the progress, the successes that we have achieved in our great party in Kano State. We are also here in order to assure Mr President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, that our party in Kano State is solidly behind him.

“We appreciate his policy reforms. We appreciate the good work that he is doing for the country. We appreciate the good work he is doing for Kano State. And we appreciate all the appointments that he has made for the people of Kano State,” he said.

Also speaking, Deputy Senate President Barau, who described the meeting as a strategic one, said, “We have urged and we have also propelled our people and propelled ourselves that we are going to do more to tell the people of our state and indeed the entire northern states what the President is doing and what he has done for our nation.

“We are solely behind him, as said by the former National Chairman.”

Hon. Abubakar Bichi added that the President has done extremely well in Kano, particularly in critical projects such as roads.

He said, “So for someone to say Mr President is not interested in the North or in Kano State is all politics.”

Aside from Ganduje and Barau, other key stakeholders at the meeting included the Minister of State for Housing, Alhaji Abdullahi Atta; Senator Kawu Sumaila; Chairman of the House Committee on Appropriation, Hon. Abubakar Kabir Abubakar; Senator Kabiru Gaya; Sulaiman Bichi; and Hon. Mohammed Garba.
