Troops kill dozens of terrorists, arrest 120 suspects, rescue 41 kidnap victims

The Defence Headquarters (DHQ) has announced that troops operating across different parts of the country neutralised dozens of terrorists, arrested at least 120 criminals, and rescued 41 kidnapped victims within the past week.
The Director of Defence Media Operations, Maj.-Gen. Markus Kangye, disclosed this on Thursday in Abuja while briefing journalists on recent military successes recorded between Sept. 14 and Sept. 22.
He said that in the North East, troops of Operation Hadin Kai engaged Boko Haram and ISWAP fighters across Borno, Yobe, and Adamawa States, killing several insurgents, arresting 26 collaborators, and rescuing three victims.
In the North West, Operation Fansan Yamma troops neutralised terrorists in Kaduna, Zamfara, Katsina, Kebbi, and Sokoto States, freeing 14 hostages. A notorious terrorist leader, Mallam Abubakar Ahmadu, and six of his associates were also arrested, Markus said.
Troops of Operation Enduring Peace in Plateau and Kaduna also apprehended 52 criminals, rescued nine victims, and killed terrorists during firefights. In the North Central, Operation Whirl Stroke killed criminals in Benue, Taraba, Kogi, Nasarawa, and the FCT arrested 17 suspects including a high-profile kidnapper, Saawuan Wuaiyolna, and rescued eight victims.
In the South-South, Operation Delta Safe foiled oil theft worth about N19.75 million, dismantled 16 illegal refining sites, arrested 19 suspects, and freed five kidnapped persons.
Meanwhile, in the South-East, troops of Operation Udo Ka killed armed criminals, arrested six suspects, rescued three victims, and seized weapons, vehicles, and IED materials.
