38th Anniversary: Akwa Ibom has achieved maturity of an elder – RMAFC Commissioner

The Akwa Ibom State representative at the federal Revenue Mobilization Allocation and Fiscal Commission (RMAFC), Imo Akpan has joined prominent sons and daughters of the state in recounting the great height the state has attained 38 years after creation.
Akwa Ibom State was created on September 23, 1987, from the old Cross River State by the former military president, General Ibrahim Babagida (Rtd) alongside Kastina State.
In a goodwill message marking the state anniversary on Wednesday, Akpan said Akwa Ibom has achieved a milestone in all sectors attributing the growth and development to the sacrifices of their forebears and tenacity of the people
According to him, “Thirty-eight years ago, the seed of a new state was sown. Today, we stand as living testimony to the faithfulness of God and the courage of our forebears.
“It is therefore, no exaggeration to say that at 38, Akwa Ibom state has achieved the maturity of an elder. The accomplishments are tangible, the momentum is undeniable, and the spirit of our people is unbreakable.”
The federal commissioner also applauded the governor, pastor Umo Eno, for his visionary and inclusive leadership style which, according to him, signals a strong federal-level support to the state.
He called for a sustained and collective effort, urging residents to “continue to build a state that future generations will be proud of.
