We never demanded subsidy from Dangote Refinery’ – DAPPMAN

The Depot and Petroleum Products Marketers Association of Nigeria, DAPPMAN, has denied the allegation that its members demanded an annual subsidy of N1.5 trillion from the Dangote Petroleum Refinery.
Dangote Refinery had said DAPPMAN allegedly demanded an annual subsidy of N1.50 trillion to enable members match the refinery’s gantry prices at their own depots.
Featuring on ‘Sunrise Daily’, a programme on Channels Television on Wednesday, spokesperson of DAPPMAN, Nkem Ohia, said the association had no knowledge of how the refinery came up with the figure.
“We don’t know where he arrived at that. Because the key thing here is he alleges and it’s for him to establish and prove. Far from it, we are not asking for a N1.5 trillion subsidy.
“This is completely ridiculous. We’re not asking for anything like a subsidy. We went into negotiations and are still in negotiations with him to see whether he can bridge that gap,” he said.
