NIGERIA – A worrying video making rounds on social media that has sparked outrage shows a group of young women violently assaulting their friend over an affair with a boyfriend.
In the video, the victim is seen pinned to the ground while being lashed and slapped repeatedly by the group.
The visibly distressed young woman made attempts to shield herself as the attack continued.

Reports circulating online suggest that the assault stemmed from accusations that the victim was caught sleeping with the boyfriend of one of her friends.
In retaliation, the women conspired to “teach her a lesson” about staying away from other people’s partners.
The video has drawn widespread condemnation from social media users, many of whom have called for the intervention of law enforcement.
Critics have described the act as barbaric and unacceptable, and urged the victim to seek legal recourse.
