I’m worth billions, I don’t owe, Soludo merely distracting people – Ukachukwu

Governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Anambra State, Prince Nicholas Ukachukwu has dismissed allegations that he owes one of his business partners the sum of N1 billion.
Ukachukwu was last week harassed in a hotel in Abuja by the supposed business partner. The allegation was supported by a viral video circulated by aides of the Anambra State Governor, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo.
But reacting to this on Tuesday, during the inauguration of the APC state governorship campaign council, Ukachukwu said it was a plot by Soludo to derail discussions away from his poor performance.
He said: “I’m not here to speak things I can’t do. I’m worth billions, I cannot owe N1 billion. The people who are telling you I owe do not have what to say, they want to distract you because they are stealing our money.
“They are discussing me and my deputy because we are unbeatable. If they are not discussing us, it means we are not making impact. But because they know we are their major problem, that is why they have us on their lips everyday.
“People who are talking about us cannot sit where billionaires sit. If you see someone who is not a billionaire and you put him to manage billions, he will embezzle it. That is what is happening in Anambra today.”
Speaking about his plans for Anambra people, the candidate said: “I know government house is possible, we only have to have faith, but faith without work is nonsense, so we must all work.
“We have plans for Anambra State, we have things we have mapped out. We want to introduce agro chain in Anambra. Today, we are at the bottom line in various rankings in Nigeria. We’re number 33 in education, governance and others. It is not me that put it there, but a well known consulting firm, Philips Consulting.
“But I have come so that we can get Anambra up again. I’m not here to discuss people but to tell you what we will do. Anambra is an industrial hub, it is either you are producing or you are trading.
“We already have the human capital, what we just want is the right environment. We will provide the environment for business to thrive again. We have already agreed on how to do this and we have had consultations about these. Cheap energy, cheap electricity and cheap labour are the things that drive industrialization, and we will target them.”
Ukachukwu’s running mate, Senator Uche Ekwunife in her remark said: “APC has been in opposition in Anambra for a long time, this is the time for us to come together and take the state. As for Anambra people, this is the best time to connect to the centre, and Anambra people will be better off for it.
