Ingawa takeover as 16th Jigawa NSCDC commandant


The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, Jigawa State Command, has officially received its 16th newly posted State Commandant, Commandant Muhammad Kabiru Ingawa.

This was contained in a statement signed by the Command Spokesman, ASC Badruddeen Tijjani Mahmud, issued to DAILY POST.

He said a native of Ingawa, Katsina State, Commandant Ingawa is a seasoned officer with vast professional experience, having served meritoriously in Katsina, Jigawa, Delta, Kaduna, and Nasarawa State Commands.

He previously served in various capacities at the Jigawa State Command before being redeployed to Kaduna, a background that makes him well familiar with the state’s security architecture. Until his recent redeployment, he was the State Commandant of Nasarawa State.

He holds a degree in Business Administration from Bayero University, Kano, and is a member of the Associate Corporate Institute of Administration. He has also attended several seminars and workshops within and outside Nigeria, enhancing his expertise in administration and security management.

Commandant Ingawa began his professional basic training at the Correctional Service Training School, Owerri, Imo State, and furthered his advanced courses at the Nigerian Correctional Staff College, Kaduna.

He has received numerous commendations, including the Most Punctual Staff Award at Jigawa State Command in 2013.

His redeployment to Jigawa State is expected to further strengthen the Command’s capacity in protecting critical national assets and infrastructure, managing crises, and ensuring internal security.

The Command welcomes him with optimism and confidence that his wealth of experience, professionalism, and leadership will contribute immensely to the progress of NSCDC Jigawa State Command and the overall security of the state.

He takes over from Bala Bawa Bodinga, who was deployed to Kano State following the retirement of its Commandant.
