Abia Warriors have strengthened their squad with the signing of exciting forward, Chindi Merpring Gukut from Nigeria National League, NNL, side Edel FC.
Gukut was Edel FC’s top scorer last season with four goals and three assists from seven appearances.
The youngster signed a two-year contract with the Umuahia-based club.
Gukut is expected to shoulder the scoring responsibilities of Abia Warriors following the departure of Anthony Ijoma who was the club’s top scorer last season.
Ijoma left for FC Radnik Bijeljina during the summer transfer window.
Abia Warriors will be up against Malian side, Djoliba AC, in the CAF Confederation Cup preliminary round first-leg tie at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium in Uyo on Sunday.
