I underwent BBL surgery for my mental health – Actress Uche Ogbodo

Nollywood actress Uche Ogbodo has revealed why she opted for body enhancement surgery, explaining that the decision was born out of her struggle with body image after childbirth.
In an interview with Saturday Beats, the mother of three disclosed that while she had always been naturally busty, her figure after having children no longer gave her confidence.
She admitted to being unhappy with her appearance after welcoming her third baby and decided to undergo cosmetic surgery for her own mental and emotional well-being.
“I didn’t have an hourglass shape. Starting to have babies didn’t help matters for me. I didn’t like what I saw when I looked at myself after my third child. I felt I owed it to myself to be happy and confident.
“The surgery wasn’t for anyone else but for me, for my mental health to feel good, okay, and enough. I am enough competition for myself,” Ogbodo explained.
The actress revealed that she chose to be open about her transformation because transparency matters to her, also noting that public figures should not mislead fans who admire them.
“In this country, people, especially celebrities, are often not honest. You’re a role model, yet you lie to those who genuinely love you. Many undergo procedures, disappear, and then return with new bodies without admitting they worked on themselves. Why hide it when you can inspire other women with your story?” she added.
Ogbodo further explained that her openness is part of her mission to encourage women who struggle with self-esteem, using her experiences to build hope.
She also revealed that her husband gave his full support for the surgery, understanding the challenges she faced with body image and the need to feel confident again.
