Eid-el-Maulud: PDP urges APC to end citizens’ suffering

The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has urged the All Progressives Congress, APC-led Federal Government to end its affliction on the people by reviewing all oppressive policies that continue to cause hardship, promote insecurity, and devalue life across the country.
This was contained in a statement by the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Debo Ologunagba, on Friday to commemorate this year’s Eid-el-Maulud.
DAILY POST reports that Eid-ul-Maulud is observed to commemorate the birth of Prophet Mohammed (SWT).
PDP urged the Muslim Ummah to use the occasion to foster the much-needed national rebirth and to reinforce their resolve against totalitarianism in Nigeria.
The party also challenged APC to respect the sovereign will of Nigerians, listen to alternative opinions, which it said is the hallmark of democracy, and abandon its pursuit of totalitarianism in the country.
The party alleged that, despite the anguish faced by Nigerians, the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has remained insensitive and continues to condone corruption and the reckless plundering of national resources by APC members and their apologists.
It added that, while millions of Nigerians cannot afford to celebrate the occasion due to the excruciating hardship brought about by APC policies, APC leaders continue to luxuriate arrogantly and display their extravagant lifestyles while disregarding the welfare of citizens.
It therefore warned APC to desist from taking Nigerians for granted, stressing that its actions amount to pushing the people to the wall and daring them to react.
“Our Party, however, calls on Nigerians not to despair but continue to show love to one another while remaining resolute in their rallying with the PDP to salvage the nation.
“The PDP calls for prayers on this special day and wishes Nigerians happy Eid-el Maulud festivities,” the statement read.
