Work with Tinubu to end targeted killings – PFN urges Trump

The Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria, PFN, has urged President Donald Trump to collaborate with his Nigerian counterpart, Bola Tinubu, to address the nation’s insecurity, rather than threatening military action.

The president of PFN, Wale Oke, made the statement on Thursday in an interview on The Morning Brief, a programme on Channels Television, monitored by DAILY POST.

He further asserted that every necessary measure should be taken to halt the killings, emphasising that the life of every Nigerian is precious and that the targeted attacks against the Church must cease.

“If the President (Bola Tinubu) wants to ask for training in counter-terrorism, or wherever they know that America has expertise, let them ask for it.

“For us, we do not want an American invasion of Nigeria. We want Donald Trump to work with our President and to hold our President accountable to stop the targeted killing and kidnapping of our members. That is what we want,” he said.

The cleric’s comments come in the wake of President Trump’s threat of military action in Nigeria over what he described as the mass slaughter of Christians.

DAILY POST recalls that Trump had taken to his Truth Social platform to urge Nigerian authorities to address the escalating attacks he alleged were directed at Christians, declaring the country a “country of particular concern”.

“Christianity is facing an existential threat in Nigeria. Thousands of Christians are being killed. Radical Islamists are responsible for this mass slaughter.

“I am hereby making Nigeria a ‘country of particular concern.’ But that is the least of it. When Christians, or any such group, are slaughtered like is happening in Nigeria (3,100 versus 4,476 Worldwide), something must be done!” he said.
