A dramatic scene happened at a wedding ceremony in Nigeria after a young man got slapped by his girlfriend moments after he went down on one knee to propose to her in front of guests.
As seen in a now viral clip, the incident happened during the marriage ceremony of a relative, which the couple had attended together.
What was supposed to be a romantic public proposal quickly turned chaotic after the lady’s unexpected reaction.
In the now viral video, the man, visibly excited, knelt down with a ring in hand to ask for his girlfriend’s hand in marriage.

However, before he could finish his proposal, the visibly angry lady slapped him hard across the face.
The lady who was fuming with rage also verbally lashed out at him.
The stunned man, who appeared embarrassed and confused, quickly stood up and walked away, leaving the crowd in disbelief.
Social media users have since been divided over the incident.
While some sympathized with the man and criticized the woman’s public outburst, others argued that she had every right to be offended by the disrespectful post and that the proposal was poorly timed and insincere.
