Police present N48.9m cheques to families of deceased officers in Niger

The Niger State Commissioner of Police, Adamu Abdullahi Elleman, has presented cheques worth over N48.9 million to the families of deceased police personnel under the Group Life Assurance Scheme.

The cheques were presented to 20 families of police personnel who lost their lives in the line of duty in the state.

Presenting the cheques to the families at the State Police Headquarters, Minna, the Commissioner of Police said the gesture is part of the welfare initiatives of the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun.

Elleman condoled with the families and stated that the payment is a gesture of love in honour of the fallen heroes.

“I, therefore, admonish you to kindly accept the token and prayed for God’s blessings upon you in your various endeavours,” he advised.

He encouraged the families to regard the police command as their second home and to reach out whenever in need.

Elleman also explained to the beneficiaries the processes through which payment can be made into their accounts as soon as possible to avoid any challenges.

In response, one of the beneficiaries, Mrs. Salamatu Gambo, appreciated the IGP and the command for the kind gesture and prayed that God Almighty continues to bless the police authority and protect all officers.
