President Bola Tinubu has congratulated Governor Chukwuma Soludo of Anambra State on his re-election.
Tinubu described Soludo’s victory as an affirmation of his visionary leadership and commitment to good governance.
The President also commended the All Grand Progressives Alliance, AGPA, for its performance in the poll, noting that the party’s victory reflected the vibrancy of Nigeria’s democracy
In a statement issued on Sunday, President Tinubu said Soludo’s overwhelming victory in Saturday’s governorship election made him the third governor in Anambra’s history to win a second term.
He commended the people of Anambra State, security agencies, and the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, for the peaceful and successful conduct of the poll.
He praised the new INEC Chairman, Professor Joash Amupitan, and his team for conducting what he described as a credible election, urging the commission to sustain and improve on the standards achieved.
“The re-election of Professor Soludo is a testament to his visionary leadership and the significant progress Anambra has made under his guidance,” the president said.
Tinubu described Soludo as a disciplined and innovative leader who has brought “grace, brilliance, and a fresh perspective” to governance in the state, adding that Anambra was living up to its motto as the “Light of the Nation.”
Recalling his visit to the state in May 2025, the president said he was impressed by the projects executed by the Soludo administration and the “good thinking” behind them.
He urged Soludo to be magnanimous in victory and to seek the cooperation of his opponents, assuring him of the Federal Government’s continued support and collaboration.
