EPL: Slot responds to Wenger’s claim that Wirtz destroyed Liverpool

Liverpool manager, Arne Slot, has dismissed former Arsenal coach Arsene Wenger’s claim that the signing of Florian Wirtz has ‘destroyed’ his Reds team.
Recall that Liverpool signed Wirtz from Bayer Leverkusen during the summer transfer window.
Wenger recently criticized the signing of Wirtz as Liverpool lost six of seven games before last week’s wins against Aston Villa and Real Madrid.
Speaking on the development ahead of Liverpool’s Premier League tie with Manchester City on Sunday, Slot said that Wirtz needs time to adapt at Liverpool.
The Dutchman said: “Everyone has a right to his own opinion, and many of them have.
“I think we have five or six very good midfielders who can all play together, but they need to play more together to get the best out of every single player.
“Florian, he needs time to adapt to his teammates; teammates need time to adapt to him. But he now played off the left.”
