A heartbreaking incident that happened at the Agogo Presbyterian Hospital in the Ashanti Region captures the moment an 11-day-old baby girl was stolen.
According to the distraught mother, Felicia Obenewaa Antwi, the incident happened after she entrusted her newborn to a young woman she had met at the hospital.
Felicia explained that she temporarily handed over to the baby thief so that she could use the washroom.
However, upon returning a few minutes later, both the woman and her baby had vanished and all attempts to locate them have since proved futile.
“I asked people around, and they said the lady had just walked out with my baby,” Felicia recounted tearfully.
The mother is now appealing to the public for help in locating her missing child.
She has urged anyone with information about the whereabouts of the young woman or the baby to report immediately to the nearest police station.
Hospital authorities and the Agogo Police Command are reportedly investigating the incident, while security has been tightened around the facility to prevent similar occurrences.
The shocking disappearance has left residents of Agogo and hospital staff deeply alarmed, with many calling for stricter surveillance and background checks on visitors to the maternity and children’s wards.
