Taraba electoral commission introduces innovations ahead of Saturday’s polls

The Chairman of the Taraba State Independent Electoral Commission, TSIEC, Philip Duwe, has announced the introduction of several innovations aimed at improving the voting process and enhancing transparency in the state’s local government elections scheduled for tomorrow.
Speaking during a press briefing in Jalingo, Dr. Duwe said the Commission’s primary goal is to deliver a credible election that reflects the true will of the people.
He noted that TSIEC has engaged with civil society organizations and other relevant stakeholders to strengthen collaboration and ensure a smooth and transparent electoral process.
The TSIEC Chairman commended journalists for their comprehensive coverage of the Commission’s activities, urging them to uphold professionalism and ethical standards in their reporting during the polls.
Duwe also disclosed that over 23 local government chairmen from across Nigeria, as well as both local and international election observers, are already in Taraba State to monitor the conduct of the election.
According to him, all court cases previously filed against the Commission have been resolved in its favor, clearing the path for an unhindered and credible electoral exercise.
He further appealed to all eligible voters to come out in large numbers and peacefully exercise their franchise.
The TSIEC boss further announced that there would be no restriction on movement during the election, adding that adequate security measures have been put in place to ensure orderliness and the safety of voters and election officials throughout the state.
