Stemaide launches hands-on STEM kits to inspire Africa’s next generation of innovators

A Ghanaian startup, Stemaide, is reshaping the future of science and technology education in Africa through practical, tech-driven learning tools.

Founded in 2022, the organisation has developed an innovative science kit that gives young learners a hands-on experience in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM).

Chief Executive Officer of Stemaide, Prince Boateng Asare, indicated that the company’s mission is to prepare Africa’s youth for the future of work by helping them apply science and technology concepts in real-world situations.

“We asked ourselves how we could ensure that young people stay relevant and ready for the workforce of the future,” Asare said. “We decided to build a tool that makes practical, hands-on education accessible to everyone.”

The science kits integrate simple electronics, coding components, and experiment modules that allow students to explore technology through direct interaction.

From building circuits and testing sensors to learning basic programming, the kits are designed to spark creativity and curiosity among learners.

“It’s amazing to see how something that started as just an idea has now become a tangible product. What began as a thought is now growing into a business venture that can make a real difference,” Mr. Asare noted.

For Mr. Asare, leading Stemaide has been a journey of innovation and collaboration.

“What I’ve learned as a CEO is that bringing ideas to life requires working with people who share the same vision. Our goal is to ensure that every child no matter where they live has the tools to learn, create, and succeed,” he said.

Through its technology-driven learning tools, Stemaide is helping shape a new generation of African innovators, equipping them with the practical skills needed to thrive in an increasingly digital world.
