Govt Announces State Funeral for Mrs Agyeman Rawlings

The government has announced that a state funeral will be held for the late former First Lady, Mrs Nana Konadu Agyeman Rawlings, on Friday, November 28, 2025, at Independence Square in Accra.
The ceremony, to be held under the auspices of President John Dramani Mahama, will honour Mrs Rawlings for her immense contributions to women’s and children’s rights and her enduring commitment to national development.
In a statement issued in Accra yesterday, the Minister for Government Communications and Presidential Spokesperson, Felix Kwakye Ofosu, said the state funeral would celebrate Mrs Rawlings’ lifelong dedication to public service and gender advocacy.
Mrs Rawlings, founder of the 31st December Women’s Movement and former First Lady, passed away on October 23, 2025.
