Frimpong Manso Chases First Win with Nations FC … Host Hohoe United Today

An inconsistent Nations FC will welcome newly promoted Hohoe United to the Dr Kwame Kyei Sports Complex today, as they look to secure their third victory of the campaign and kick-start a turnaround in form.

Nations FC were held to a goalless draw away at Bechem United last weekend, a result that capped off a difficult month of October in which the Abrankese side managed just one win from five league matches.

Currently sitting 11th on the table with nine points, Nations FC have recorded two wins, three draws, and three defeats this season, scoring six goals and conceding eight in eight matches.

Despite their inconsistencies, Nations FC remain unbeaten at home, registering two wins and two draws in four matches at the Dr Kwame Kyei Sports Complex, scoring five times and conceding three.

The goalless stalemate against Bechem United marked the first game in charge for new Head Coach, Frimpong Manso, the experienced tactician who led Bibiani Gold Stars to their maiden Premier League title.

Hohoe United head into the fixture just one place above their hosts on the league table, also with nine points, but on a run of three matches without a win.

The Premier League newcomers were held to a 1-1 draw at home against Medeama SC last Saturday, a result that highlighted their fighting spirit despite their struggles to maintain consistency.

In their debut top-flight campaign, Hohoe United have managed two wins, three draws, and three defeats, scoring eight goals and conceding nine.

Head Coach Tijani Abdul Rahim Bashiru will be keen to see his side improve their away performances and possibly secure their first away victory in the Premier League.

Today’s game is a prelude to the Match day nine fixtures of the Ghana Premier League (GPL) to be climaxed on Sunday at the Accra Sports Stadium with a dicey clash between Hearts of Oak and Asante Kotoko.

In other matches of the round, Vision FC will welcome Techiman Eleven Wonders at the Nii Kraku Park in Tema; Aduana FC will host Medeama SC at the Dormaa Park, Karela United will hope to bounce back from the Kotoko thrashing when they host Dreams FC at the Aliu Mahama Stadium in Tamale while Heart of Lions engages Berekum Chelsea.

The Nsenkyire Arena will host the clash between Samartex and Swedru All Blacks, Holy Stars will come face to face with Bibiani Gold Stars at the Ampain AAK II Arena with Young Apostles hosting Bechem United.
