FEC: North-east gets zero, South-east receives least in N1tn projects approval – Yakasai

Salihu Yakasai, the Kano State governorship candidate of the People’s Redemption Party (PRP) in the 2023 election, has said the North-East received zero project approvals, while the South-East received the least from Thursday’s Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting.

He disclosed this in a statement on X on Friday.

According to his analysis, the South-West, the geopolitical zone of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, received a whopping N789 billion in project approvals, representing 75 per cent of the N1 trillion total project approvals.

He added that the South-South received N156 billion, the North-Central got N43 billion, and the North-West got N30 billion in project approvals at the latest FEC meeting.

“Another South-West FEC meeting was held yesterday. Out of the total amount of N1 trillion approved:

South-West: N789 billion (75%)

South-South: N156 billion (14%)

North-Central: N43 billion (4%)

North-West: N30 billion (2%)

South-East: N28 billion (2%)

North-East: N0 billion (0%),” he wrote on X.

DAILY POST reports that President Tinubu presided over the FEC meeting and approved major road contracts and project reviews valued at over N400 billion.

This comes amid growing concerns over the Tinubu administration’s alleged concentration of projects in his region.
