Oyo: Fire ravages petroleum station in Saki

 
Properties worth millions of naira have been destroyed as a result of fire that ravaged a petroleum station in Saki, Oyo State.
The incident occurred at Abu Badmus petroleum station on Monday.
It was learnt that the fire affected the petroleum station and a pick up van. No life was lost in the incident.
The Chairman of Oyo State Fire Service, Maroof Akinwande, confirmed the incident.
He said that policemen from Saki Divisional Command provided security cover for his men during the incident.
Akinwande in a statement made available to DAILY POST on Tuesday said, “Upon arrival, it was discovered that the filling station engulfed with serious flames and smoke.
“Our officers quickly swung into action and curtailed the fire from spreading to the nearby buildings and properties. The fire fighting operation was carried out successfully and no casualty was recorded.
“The fire affected the Petrol station and one pickup van. The presence of Nigerian police Saki Divisional Command was highly appreciated for security cover during the operation”.
