Volta Economic Forum charts path to Investments, region calls for strategic collaboration


The Volta Regional Coordinating Council (VRCC), in partnership with the Volta Corridor Investment Center (VCIC), has extended profound appreciation to all stakeholders whose presence, insights, and commitment ensured the successful hosting of the maiden Volta Economic Forum held in Ho.
The historic event brought together senior Government Officials, Members of Parliament, Traditional Authorities, Diplomatic Missions, Development Partners, Private Sector Leaders, Academia, and Civil Society Representatives to deliberate on accelerating the region’s transformation through targeted investment and coordinated planning.
In a statement, Dr. Elikplim Kwabla Apetorgbor, Commissioner and Volta Representative to the NDPC, and Chair of the Volta Economic Forum Steering Committee, described the Forum as “a defining step in positioning the Volta Region as a frontier for inclusive and sustainable growth.”
> “We are deeply grateful to all our partners and participants for their commitment to this new vision. The Volta Region’s strategic location, natural endowments, and human capital present unmatched opportunities for industrialization, renewable energy, tourism, logistics, and agri-business development,” he said.
The discussions at the Forum identified clear pathways for transforming the region’s economic landscape, focusing on renewable energy expansion, agro-industrial value chains, logistics infrastructure, tourism development, and blue economy initiatives.
The VRCC announced plans to engage Ministries, Departments, nd Agencies, the private sector, and development partners to translate the investment prospects identified into bankable projects and structured public–private partnerships.
> “Our next phase is action. The Region is committed to deepening collaboration with investors and institutions to deliver concrete results that create jobs, boost productivity, and enhance the well-being of our people,” Dr Apetorgbor added.
Traditional Leaders and key private sector participants also reaffirmed their readiness to partner in realizing the Forum’s outcomes, emphasizing the importance of local participation and sustainable resource utilization.
The Volta Region aims to build on the momentum of the Forum by institutionalizing it as an annual platform for policy dialogue, investment matchmaking, and regional development coordination, ensuring continuity and accountability in the delivery of development commitments.
