Police arrest two suspected motorcycle thieves in Bauchi

The Bauchi State Police Command has arrested two suspects for alleged criminal conspiracy and theft of motorcycles in Darazo Local Government Area of the state.
In a statement issued by the Command’s Spokesperson, CSP Ahmed Wakil, the suspects — identified as 25-year-old Nura Yau and 25-year-old Bayero Isah, both residents of Akuyam village in Misau Local Government Area were apprehended by detectives from the Darazo Division.
According to the police, a concerned citizen had reported to the Darazo Divisional Police Headquarters that two unknown individuals on red Boxer Bajaj motorcycles were seen behaving suspiciously while inquiring about motorcycle dealers at a garage in Kari village.
Upon receiving the report, the Divisional Police Officer, SP Auwalu Ilu, led a team of detectives to the scene, where the two men were swiftly arrested. During interrogation, the suspects confessed to having stolen the motorcycles from different locations, including one taken on September 30, 2025, at a Juma’at Mosque in Darazo town.
Further investigation revealed that one of the stolen motorcycles belonged to Auwal Adamu, a 50-year-old man from Darazo.
The Commissioner of Police, CP Sani-Omolori Aliyu, has directed that the case be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) for further investigation.
