Real Madrid forward, Kylian Mbappe has insisted that the club’s legend Cristiano Ronaldo is the benchmark at the Los Blancos.
Mbappe was responding to a question of whether he can surpass Ronaldo’s legacy at the Santiago Bernabeu.
The France captain enjoyed a brilliant start to life with Real Madrid last season as he won the top scorer award in the LaLiga and Europe.
Speaking after recently receiving his European Golden Shoe for the 2024-25 season, Mbappe was asked if he thinks he can overtake the achievements of Ronaldo at Real Madrid.
The former Paris Saint-Germain star responded (via @MadridXtra on X): “I don’t know how to answer that question. Everyone knows that Cristiano [Ronaldo] is the benchmark in Madrid, the number one.
“I have been here for a year and a half, and he was here for 9 years. I can’t compare myself to what he did; my path is different.
“I’m only focused on helping the team, and winning every title possible.”
