Peter Obi honurs late highlife legend, Mike Ejeagha attends his burial in Enugu

Peter Obi, former presidential candidate of the Labour Party, on Friday, attended the burial of legendary highlife musician, Mike Ejeagha in Imezi-Owa, Ezeagu Local Government Area of Enugu State.
Obi said he travelled from Lagos to Enugu that morning to honour the late cultural icon, describing him as a man whose legacy “deeply influenced society through his outstanding contributions to culture and music.”
“In the quiet solemnity of that sacred moment, surrounded by his loved ones and a reverend father, we offered prayers at his graveside, commending his noble soul to the Almighty,” he wrote on his official X page.
Obi noted that Ejeagha’s passing should remind Nigerians of “the beauty of a life dedicated to service, culture, and truth.”
“May his memory inspire us to use our own gifts for the good of society, and to live in a manner worthy of remembrance,” he added.
He concluded his message with a prayer “Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord; and let perpetual light shine upon him. Amen.”
