GTA to celebrate innovation, leadership in tourism at 2025 National Awards

The Ghana Tourism Authority (GTA) has announced plans to host the 2025 edition of the National Tourism Awards to honour outstanding achievements and innovation in the tourism and creative sectors.
The event, which will take place under the theme “Celebrating Ghanaian Ingenuity and Excellence in Tourism: The Black Star Experience,” aims to showcase distinction, leadership, and originality within Ghana’s growing tourism and hospitality industry.
The announcement was contained in a press release shared with The Ghanaian Times yesterday in Accra and signed by the Director of Corporate Affairs, on behalf of the Chief Executive Officer of the Authority, Mr Bright Asempa Tsadidey.
Scheduled for Friday, November 14, 2025, at The Grand Arena of the Accra International Conference Centre, the awards ceremony will be held under the auspices of the Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts.
According to the statement, this year’s awards would spotlight individuals and institutions whose work continues to elevate Ghana’s image on the global tourism map.
The event will also recognise trailblazers whose creativity, service, and resilience define the country’s tourism excellence.
The Chief of Staff, Mr Julius Debrah, will be the special guest of honour, alongside the Minister of Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts, Abla Dzifa Gomashie, and other high-profile dignitaries from government, the diplomatic corps, the private sector, and the creative industry.
The Chief Executive Officer of the GTA, Mrs Maame Efua Houadjeto, according to the statement, said the 2025 theme underscores Ghana’s growing confidence as a destination defined by creativity and originality.
“The Black Star Experience captures the soul of our nation—bold, inventive, and full of promise. Through this celebration, we honour the Ghanaian spirit that turns ideas into impact and passion into progress,” she stated.
The awards night, the statement added, would also feature cultural performances, artistic showcases, and the finest expressions of Ghanaian hospitality—a reflection of the nation’s cultural pride and creative energy.
