A family has been plunged into grief after their 19-year-old daughter tragically passed away in Canada.
Marvellous Ugochukwu was a medical student at the University of Regina, with dreams of one day becoming a neurosurgeon.
Her sister, Miracle Ugochukwu, shared that Marvellous moved to Canada in 2023.
The two of them lived together, juggling work and studies to survive in the foreign land. She explained that Marvellous worked at a restaurant to earn money for her tuition fees.
On that fateful day, the young medical student set off for work, waiting for a bus at the station near her home.
While waiting along Dewdney Avenue, near Elphinstone Street in Regina, she was struck by a truck that had lost control.
The vehicle veered off the road and crashed into the bus shelter, tragically killing Marvellous on the spot.
Miracle became concerned when her sister failed to show up for work, despite the restaurant being only about 12 minutes away, and she wasn’t answering her calls.
