2026 WCQ: Gusau upbeat Super Eagles will clinch playoffs ticket

President of the Nigeria Football Federation, NFF, Ibrahim Gusau is optimistic the Super Eagles will emerge victorious at the 2026 FIFA World Cup playoffs.
The Super Eagles will battle three other countries, Gabon, Cameroon and Democratic Republic of Congo for the single available slot at the mini-tournament which will be hosted by Morocco.
Nigeria will take on the Panthers of Gabon in the semi-final of the playoffs on Thursday, 13 November.
Gusau stated that the NFF will do their best to ensure the team clinch the ticket.
“Everything is being done, by the NSC and the NFF, to see that nothing is left to chance. No stone will be left unturned,” Gusau told thenff.com
“That special spirit that saw the team rise to the occasion and score the four goals they actually needed against Bénin Republic on the final day of the qualifiers, will propel the team to victory in the play-offs.
The Super Eagles will open camp for the competition on Sunday, November 9.
