Senate confirms six nominees as RMAFC commissioners


The Senate on Tuesday approved the appointment of six nominees as commissioners for the Revenue Mobilisation, Allocation and Fiscal Commission, RMAFC.

The News Agency of Nigeria reports that this came after the presentation and consideration of the report by the Senate Committee on National Planning and Economic Affairs during plenary.

Presenting the report, Chairman of the Committee, Sen. Yahaya Abdullahi, stated that the committee was convinced the nominees had the necessary qualifications and expertise for the job.

“We are convinced of their suitability,” he said.

The confirmed nominees include Bello Wamakko from Sokoto, Hadizatu Mustapha from Borno, Sen. Marafa Abba from Taraba, Ahmed Hassan from Adamawa, Bob Inafa from Bayelsa, and Gboyega Oladele from Osun.

In his remarks, Deputy Senate President, Jibrin Barau who presided over the plenary said that the appointment of the nominees was a call to serve the nation.
