PDP chairmanship: Sule Lamido has right to compete – Bode George

A member of the Board of Trustees, BoT, of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Bode George, has said that former Jigawa State Governor Sule Lamido has the right to contest for the chairmanship of the party.
George stated this on Tuesday while responding to questions during an interview on Politics Today, a programme on Channels Television monitored by DAILY POST.
His comment follows Lamido’s threat to take legal action against PDP for allegedly denying him the opportunity to purchase the nomination form to contest for the position of National Chairman.
“The fact that PDP leaders converged and supported an individual for consensus candidate does not mean that others will not compete.
“You want to make the process seamless. It’s an internal dynamic. We have done this in the past and the party did not tell anybody that he or she cannot contest.
“Sule Lamido has the right to compete. He can go and get the form, fill the form and follow the normal process and appear on the day of the convention. We will vote,” George said.
