Gonaboy honors his roots and resilience in new EP

Ghana’s fast-rising alternative artist Gonaboy has officially released his much-anticipated EP,
Muniru, a deeply personal body of work that chronicles his journey through pain, growth, and
resilience.
The project takes listeners on a reflective path, highlighting the emotional highs and lows that have shaped his artistry and outlook on life.
In an exclusive interview with 3Music, Gonaboy revealed that the EP’s title, Muniru, his his
name which means pays homage to his roots and the lessons that have molded him into the
man he is today.

The artist, known for blending soulful melodies with introspective lyrics, described Muniru as “a mirror of my soul”, an honest expression of his inner battles, triumphs, and the strength to keep pushing forward.
“My father is one of my biggest inspirations,” Gonaboy shared during the interview. “He taught me discipline, humility, and the importance of standing firm no matter what life throws at you. Muniru is my way of honoring that strength, it’s a story of where I come from and how far I’ve come.”
Each track on Muniru captures a different phase of Gonaboy’s evolution, from moments of
doubt and heartbreak to rediscovering his purpose and confidence.

The EP’s soundscape fuses elements of Afro-soul, alternative rhythms, and reggae influences a signature blend that has earned Gonaboy recognition as one of Ghana’s most promising new voices.
