Haaland Extends Scoring Streak in Villarreal Win

Manchester City’s Erling Haaland extended his remarkable scoring streak to 12 straight matches as his side cruised to a 2-0 victory over Villarreal in the UEFA Champions League on Tuesday.

Bernardo Silva also found the net during a dominant display at La Cerámica, underscoring City’s depth, precision, and attacking power — with Haaland once again leading the line in imperious form.

City nearly broke the deadlock seconds after kickoff when Jeremy Doku’s low shot was superbly saved by Villarreal goalkeeper Luiz Junior.

Pep Guardiola’s men eventually took the lead in the 17th minute, as Rico Lewis delivered a pinpoint pass into the box for Haaland to smash home a first-time effort from the edge of the six-yard area.

The strike not only extended Haaland’s scoring run to 12 consecutive games but also took his Champions League tally to four goals this season.

So far this campaign, only Bayern Munich’s Harry Kane (19 goals) has scored more among players in Europe’s top five leagues, with Haaland level on 15 goals with Real Madrid’s Kylian Mbappé.
