Ensign Global University pledges to nurture globally competitive public health graduates

Ensign Global University again reaffirmed its commitment to nurturing globally competitive graduates in the Public Health sector during this year’s Matriculation Ceremony held for the newest cohort of the Master of Public Health (MPH) students.

This annual, culturally important ceremony welcomed thirty-two members into the university community, marking the beginning of their transformative academic journey.

In his keynote address, the President of Ensign Global University, Professor Stephen Alder, congratulated the incoming students on their admission and delivered an inspiring message centered on the university’s core pillars: Leadership, Professionalism, and Entrepreneurship.

Professor Alder emphasised the institution’s mission to nurture globally competitive graduates who are equipped to make meaningful contributions to public health and society at large.

He challenged students to lead innovation in addressing Africa’s demographic challenges.

“It is our responsibility to think of better ways for people to live prosperously on the African continent. As public health professionals, we must usher in a new world—one where Ghana plays a leading role in transformation,” he added.

The ceremony featured remarks and goodwill messages from esteemed faculty members, including Professor Stephen Manortey, Head of Academic Programs. He reaffirmed the faculty’s commitment to guiding students throughout their academic journey.

Another key highlight of the day was the signing of the Matricula, officially recording the names of the new students in the university’s archives.

Following the signing, Ms. Rita Coffie delivered a heartfelt acceptance speech on behalf of her cohort.

“Public health is not only a field of study; it is a calling—to protect the vulnerable, prevent disease, and improve lives. By joining Ensign Global University, we accept the responsibility to learn, to lead, and to serve,” she said.

The September 2025 intake represents a milestone for the university, welcoming MPH students from an unprecedented range of academic and professional backgrounds.

This growing diversity highlights Ensign Global University’s reputation as a center for academic excellence, innovation, and interdisciplinary learning in public health education.
