Now Spor commentator, Erbatur Ergenekon has suggested that Ilkay Gündoğan will be Galatasaray’s star player ahead of Osimhen this season.
According to Ergenekon, last season was Osimhen’s season for Galatasaray, but this season will be Gündoğan’s season for the Turkish Super Lig champions.
He insisted that Gündoğan made a huge difference and also makes people love football.
Ergenekon spoke following Galatasaray’s victory against Baaşakşehir on Saturday.
“Last season was Osimhen’s season for Galatasaray. It looks like this season will be the ‘İlkay Gündoğan season.’ Putting such an impact, such a difference, such a mindset into the game,” Ergenekon said as quoted by Habersarikirmizi.
“İlkay Gündoğan makes a huge difference. He sets the tempo as he wishes and determines the direction of the game. He makes people love football.”
Gündoğan joined Galatasaray in the summer after leaving Premier League giants Manchester City.
