NAF reiterates neutrality, cautions personnel against engaging in political activities

The Nigerian Air Force, NAF has cautioned its personnel against engaging in political activities, urging them to remain loyal and professional in the discharge of their duties.
Air Vice Marshal Usman Abdullahi, the Air Officer Commanding, Special Operations Command, Bauchi, gave the charge during the 2025 annual 10-kilometer walk and jog exercise organized by the Nigerian Air Force.
He warned that no personnel should participate in activities capable of undermining the values and ethics of the military profession.
“You must remain apolitical. Don’t involve yourselves in any political activities or in anything that goes against the calling of our military profession.
“I urge you to remain loyal to the Federal Republic of Nigeria and the President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces,” Abdullahi said.
The AOC explained that the NAF places high priority on the physical and mental fitness of its personnel, adding that the exercise was designed to promote teamwork, alertness, and overall well-being.
He also commended the Bauchi State Government for its continuous support, collaboration, and creation of an enabling environment for the command’s operations.
Speaking after the exercise, Bauchi State Governor, Sen. Bala Mohammed, lauded the participants’ impressive performance, describing it as a reflection of discipline, consistency, and commitment to excellence.
Represented by his Deputy, Alhaji Auwal Jatau, the governor said the event symbolized unity and shared purpose among the security agencies, paramilitary organizations, and members of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC).
“Seeing officers from various services and agencies participate together in such a lively atmosphere shows that sports and fitness are powerful tools for strengthening peace and solidarity,” he said.
He commended the cordial relationship between the Bauchi State Government, the Nigerian Air Force, and other security agencies, noting that their synergy has contributed immensely to maintaining peace and stability in the state.
DAILY POST reports that a total of 32 participants, including airmen, airwomen, officers of the Nigeria Immigration Service, Customs Service, and civilians, received prizes for their outstanding performance during the exercise.
