Ex-Kwara PDP chairman resigns – Daily Post Nigeria

Former Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Kwara State, Alhaji Babatunde Mohammed, has resigned from the party, DAILY POST reports.
In a phone chat with DAILY POST in Ilorin on Saturday, Mohammed disclosed that he plans to defect to the African Democratic Congress, ADC.
The erstwhile Speaker, known as a staunch loyalist of former Senate President Dr Bukola Saraki, said he had paid his dues in his former party, having been a member since 2002.
Mohammed, who served as Speaker of the State House of Assembly between 2009 and 2011 on the platform of the PDP, said his former party had become hopeless, hence his decision to leave.
He noted that while others, including leaders of the PDP in the state, defected to the All Progressives Congress, APC, in the past, he chose to remain in the PDP out of loyalty to the party.
The former Speaker, in his letter of resignation dated October 15, 2025, sent to DAILY POST and addressed to the party chairman of Agunjin Ward in the Ifelodun Local Government Area of the state, said he left the party for personal reasons.
